Our History & Mission
With a legacy spanning over 42 years in the Santa Barbara community, Events by Rincon began in 1984 as the vision of founder Marc Borowitz. What started as a local restaurant, Brandon’s, evolved into a premier full-service event and catering company known for its "Rincon Family" atmosphere. In 2023, the torch was passed to longtime team members Alyssa Searcy and Jonathan Sotelo, ensuring that our deep-rooted traditions of quality and care remain at the heart of everything we do.
Our philosophy is built on the belief that every event is a unique story waiting to be told. We specialize in creating seamless, all-inclusive hospitality experiences — from handcrafted, locally inspired menus to meticulous coordination at our breathtaking coastal venues. Whether it's an intimate beach club wedding or a grand gala at the Santa Barbara Zoo, our mission is to handle every detail with excellence, allowing you to step out of the logistics and into the moment.
Our Team Has a Passion for Events

Our Founder | Marc Borowitz
Marc Borowitz is self-taught, as he spent his youth in the kitchen and worked his way up from busboy to opening his own restaurant, Brandon's, in 1984.
Brandon's has since developed into Events by Rincon, which boasts two premier venues-Rincon Beach Club and the Santa Barbara Zoo. Marc has a strong passion for the event industry and is very hands-on with the management of the company. He believes in giving guests an amazing experience from start to finish.
Our Co-Founder | Carol Borowitz
Carol Borowitz is co-founder, with her husband Marc, of Rincon Beach Club and Catering.
For over a decade Carol has worked side by side with Marc sharing her passion for the business and enriching the lives of many people through events and design.
